We understand that you may have concerns with how you are going to pay for your dialysis treatment. Here’s some general information that you may find useful to help you plan for your treatments. Please do take some time to read through the information and feel free to contact us at +65 6397 3360 if you need more information.
How can I pay for my private dialysis treatment?
If you are a Singaporean or a Permanent Resident of Singapore, you can use your Medisave accounts to pay part of the bill. The maximum amount that you can withdraw from Medisave account is $450 per month. On top of this, you are also covered by Medishield Life which allows you to claim up to a maximum of $1000 per month.
If you have private insurance, such as NTUC Income or AIA, the amount that you can claim for your treatment will depend on the plan that you purchased. Most insurance plans will require you to co-pay a small sum of money. If you have private insurance, you will not be able to claim from Medishield Life.
What if I am not able to afford the treatment fees in private dialysis centres?
When you have been diagnosed with kidney failure and require dialysis, medical social workers in hospitals will discuss with you the different options of receiving treatment. If you have financial difficulties to pay for private dialysis treatment, medical social workers will conduct financial assessment and refer you to National Kidney Foundation or Kidney Dialysis Foundation, which are Voluntary Welfare Organisations. These two organisations will provide subsidised dialysis treatment to financially needy patients. However, you may need to wait some time to get a place with NKF or KDF.
In the interim, your medical social worker will apply to various charitable organisations to help pay for your dialysis treatment in private dialysis centres whilst waiting for a place with NKF or KDF. During this interim period whilst waiting for subsidised treatment at NKF or KDF, you may need to co-pay a small sum of money, depending on your family financial situation.
Can I use my spouse or children’s medisave accounts to pay for my treatment in private dialysis centres?
Yes, you can tap on your spouse or children’s medisave accounts and they need to sign a declaration form which is available at our dialysis centres
Will I have to pay for my treatment at the end of every session and do you accept Cash?
We accept Cash, NETS, credit card and you can also pay through bank transfer. Please check with the Nurse Manager of your centre if you wish to do bank transfer.
You can pay us for each treatment session if this is easier for you but we will usually bill you at the end of each month.
